On Phymetrix Sample Systems, all NPT fittings are torqued to specification. Our systems are designed with straight NPT to swage adapters only, thus component and pipe positions are independent of NPT fitting orientation. Other manufacturers depend on the orientation of the NPT fitting to position the sample system components, therefore the NPT fittings are either over or under tightened, which results in leaks and thus erroneous measurements.
